It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, every where we go …. Now that Thanksgiving and Black Friday are behind us it is time for us to focus on the month of December, that glorious month where San Fernando Valley residents really know how to get in the festive mood and celebrate the holidays. Tree or Menorah Lighting Ceremonies, neighborhoods lit for all to see, holiday lights on boats, palm trees, parades and holiday performances. Ahh, we know how to do the Holidays here in Southern California and Culver City is no exception.

Let’s start right here in Culver City with a FREE performance of It’s A Wonderful Life at the Veterans’ Memorial Building at 4117 Overland Drive. On Sunday, December 13, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm the Culver City Public Theater brings the classic story of George Bailey to life. Did we mention it is free?

On Thursday December 4th you can celebrate the holidays at the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in Downtown Culver City. Enjoy hot cider and hot cocoa, treats and musical performances by local choirs. The tree is next to the Culver Hotel at Culver Blvd. and Van Buren Place at 6pm. We hear not only will the mayor of Culver City be on hand, but a certain jolly fellow dressed in red makes a trip from the North Pole for this special event.

If you are new to Culver City then you may not have heard of the annual Tower Lighting Ceremony on Friday December 34th at 6;30. Join other Culver City residents as the tree surrounding Vets Tower is illuminated. Santa makes a special trip and arrives by fire truck. There is music, holiday crafts and refreshments.

The Westfield Mall has a month full of holiday events. Visit Santa through Christmas Eve or take in the lights from the tree or the Menorah. Check out their website for more Holiday Events in Culver City.
